Description
I have lived many places since birth, but I reside now in Florida and this will be home for the rest of my life. I love Florida, so full of sun and blue sky, white sandy beaches, a community of people from all over the country that respect all others for their own individuality and background. Most precious of all, to me, is living just minutes from tropical waters, coloring the atmoshphere with its aqua-marine hue - so beautiful, warm and refreshing to the soul. Especially to one born under the sign of Pisces, such as myself. My soul feels at home in this beautiful state.
The flag was drawn with Faber-Castell Soft Core Premium colored pencils - my favorite artist grade quality color pencil. The rest of this painting was done with Prismacolor half-stick soft pastels.

Nice work, Renee! I am originally from Wisconsin, and have lived in east central Florida for eleven years. Florida is now home to me, as well. I agree with your sentiments about the state. Love the nature, especially the birds that reside here. I live near the ocean in a nice community where I feel very safe. I like the way your painting has a dynamic quality to it; I imagine the flag rippling and the palm trees waving. Don't worry, people will discover this work in time-- I discover great works of art every time I visit this site!

Thanks Karl! I'm super proud of this work, and have been surprised at the total lack of attention it has received. You've boosted my spirits on this piece. :D
