Caribbean Shorelines is my 2nd Acrylic Painting, on Posterboard, 16x20. This scene depicts my heart's desire, for I grew up on the island of Tobago, and miss the natural (ONLY) sounds, vivid nature, too beautiful to imagine, the Caribbean waters, the sights, sounds, smells, sensation and peaceful tranquility of a primitive, nearly uninhabited island, growing up in the late 60s-early 70s.
I was born with a love for the awesome beauty of nature, especially trees and the incredible variety of greens that paint canopies around the globe. I also discovered the profound abilities of the mind and its wondrous imagination, something that I mastered early in life, having exercised it daily. I learned to love the written word and the magic that books had to take one away to another place. Writing was my first application to share my imagination's creativity. Then I took an art class in college and was in awe of the power to create visual scenes representing anything my mind desired. This is my life now. My passion and saving grace.
