Living in SW Florida and having grown up in the West Indies as a child makes the tropical scene a common, natural favorite of mine. I've seen some spectacular, colorful sunsets, though this pastel painting is quite a bit more vivid than the usual. I find I am starting to favor being slightly abstract than my past work, which tended to strive for realism. My imagination is quite excited to be exercised much more again. Hope all viewers enjoy this piece as miuch as I do.
